Redmond, WA, U.S.A., September 7, 2016 – Zetron just completed its sixth annual “Shoot for the Stars” golf tournament to benefit the Behind the Badge Foundation ―an organization that honors and assists Washington State’s injured and fallen law-enforcement officers and their families. Through a combination of event fees, sponsorships, donations, and contributions from Zetron and its employees, proceeds from this year’s event are $25,000. This brings the total Zetron has raised over the past six years for Behind the Badge to $120,000.
This year’s tournament was held Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at The Golf Club in Newcastle, WA. Over 150 participants joined in to show off their golf swings and engage in friendly competition. Attendees included Seattle Police Chief, Kathleen O’Toole; Kirkland Police Chief, Cherie Harris; former Kirkland Police Chief, Eric Olson (who is now Zetron’s Territory Manager for the Western U.S. and Western Canada); and a host of emergency first responders, law-enforcement officers, and public-safety personnel from agencies throughout the state. Also on hand were celebrity golfers Slick Watts, Nesby Glasgow, and Alonzo Mitz. David Rose, Q13 FOX news anchor and host of Washington’s Most Wanted, again served as master of ceremonies, as he has done every year since the event’s inception.
“We are very pleased to have again hosted such a successful benefit for Behind the Badge,” said Zetron President and CEO, Brent Dippie. “Not only does everyone have a great time, but it gives law-enforcement and first responders who attend the event a chance to experience first-hand the support and appreciation we feel for the difficult and often dangerous work they do.”
