Zetron Public Notice Re Coronavirus Pandemic – 4/24/20 Update

Yet another week living and operating within the confines of the COVID-19 pandemic, but perhaps the first week we’ve really started seeing tangible signs of reaching the downward curve. The beginning of the journey back to normalcy, whatever the adjusted “normal” may look like in the wake of this difficult period, does seem to finally be within sight.

In that spirit, just as last week’s update focused on resources with useful information for our markets as they continue to weather the storm, this week I’d like to provide some information more focused on getting to the other side.

Governments worldwide are taking steps to provide critical funding and assistance to public safety, transportation, and many other public and private business entities to endure and remain viable through what’s left of the crisis, and nearly as important, for recovery efforts on the other side.

Among the resources published last week was a link to the ITS America COVID-19 response report that provides information on governmental resources and assistance aimed at transportation agencies in particular. This week we’ve published new information for Zetron partners and customers on the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) Program being offered by the US Department of Justice to state and local governments specifically to help in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the Coronavirus.

Necessary upgrades, expansions, or additions to public safety technologies, including the mission critical communications solutions provided by Zetron and its authorized partners, are eligible for CESF grant awards. So the program could be an excellent source for making needed improvements to help new or existing Zetron customers come out of the crisis stronger, and be better prepared to navigate through the operational changes that will inevitably result, as well as whatever the next crisis brings.

Going forward, we expect this to be just the start of what will be aggressive actions by federal governments worldwide to fuel recovery and adaptation. In the US for example, the Senate just this week passed a $480 billion relief package that includes new funding for small businesses hurt by the pandemic. This was on the heels of the ~$2.2 trillion federal stimulus package already passed for individuals and businesses.

These are all positive signs we’re on our way to getting through this. We’ve begun seeing many Zetron customers in public safety, transportation, utilities, healthcare and correctional institutions successfully advance from merely navigating the pandemic, to looking forward and making plans to more permanently implement some of the short term contingency modifications made in light of the pandemic (e.g., workstation distancing, remote capabilities, back-up capacity, etc.) for the long term in order to be better prepared for future emergencies, public health or otherwise.

If you find yourself in a similar position, proactively looking for go forward options to meet what will inevitably be the “new normal” operational standards and requirements for communications centers, we’d like to offer our expertise and be a resource for helping you ideate, plan, and implement, if applicable. You don’t have to be a Zetron customer, just let us know what we can do. If communications mobility, temporary workstations, overflow/queue management, remote operations or other needs to make your center more versatile and prepared are specifically on your mind…whether Zetron solutions can be part of that plan or not, we are here to help.

Thank you for your continued vigilance through this difficult time. Without your dedication and selfless hard work throughout this challenge we would not be anywhere near a position to begin looking to the other side.

If we can help, we are accessible and available. Visit our Contact page for details on how best to reach us based on your location or simply email us at customercare@zetron.com from anywhere in the world and we’ll quickly get you connected with the resources and/or assistance needed. And technical support remains available to customers 24x7x365 as always, simply visit https://www.zetron.com/sales-support/#support for information on how to reach us.

Stay safe, be well, and soon we’ll be through this together.

Sincerely,

Zetron Public Notice Re Coronavirus Pandemic – 4/6/20 Update

Washington State’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order, mandating “non-essential” businesses to close physical operations and limiting public interactions of individuals originally slated to go until April 8th has officially been extended to at least May 4th.

Although headquartered in the state of Washington, USA, Zetron is a supplier to Public Safety and other critical infrastructure agencies around the world, so the company is classified as an “essential” business and allowed to remain in operation under the ordinance to support our mission critical customers.

So the new ordinance by our state’s governor doesn’t significantly change or impact Zetron’s local or global operations or the contingency business measures we’ve already implemented in order to keep our employees, partners, customers, and their respective families safe and healthy, which is our first priority. While doing so, our commitment to maintaining business continuity and reliability so as to prevent disruptions or outages to the vital services provided by our customers remains unchanged and unwavering.

Please review the messages re the COVID-19 pandemic we’ve published prior (see below) for more information on the precautions and proactive steps we’ve taken as a business to help keep people healthy and safe while continuing to ensure the viability of our solution and services delivery to partners and customers.

Additionally, we’ve heard from many partners and customers with questions about best practices and tips for keeping Zetron equipment clean and safe for our heroic front line emergency response and dispatch personnel that are courageously coming to work every day to help fight this pandemic. Zetron systems are often shared between different users across shifts, so we certainly understand the heightened importance of cleaning and disinfecting appropriately.

To help our customers we’ve published a new information sheet to provide instructions on how best to sanitize Zetron equipment, as well as direction on which cleaning products to use and which are not safe or effective. Hopefully this document will help put our customers at least a bit more at ease in knowing they’re doing what they can to keep their Zetron equipment in single or shared workstations as safe as possible for employees. Download “Sanitizing Zetron Equipment” here and let us know if you have any questions.

I want to close this update by reiterating to our customers how very grateful we all are to you for continuing to face and meet this challenge head on for the rest of us. You have our sincere gratitude for maintaining your everyday hero status through this unprecedented and extremely challenging time.

If we can help, we are accessible and available. Visit our Contact page for details on how best to reach us based on your location or simply email us at customercare@zetron.com from anywhere in the world and we’ll quickly get you connected with the resources and/or assistance needed. Zetron Public Notice Re Coronavirus Pandemic – 3/25/20 Update

Effective tomorrow, Washington State’s governor has issued a “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order, mandating “non-essential” businesses to close physical operations and implementing more stringent restrictions on individuals regarding leaving their homes and interactions with others, particularly limiting any/all group activities. The new ordinance is currently scheduled to be in effect at least through April 8th.

As such, particularly with Zetron’s global headquarters and primary North American operations residing within the state of Washington, USA, I wanted to provide an update. Zetron is a supplier to Public Safety and other critical infrastructure agencies around the world, so the company is classified as an “essential” business under the ordinance to support our mission critical customers.
So while we have implemented additional operational contingency plans since our last update that further the measures previously put in place to keep our employees, partners, customers, and their respective families safe and healthy, our objective to maintain business continuity and reliability so as to prevent disruptions or outages to the vital services provided by our customers remains unchanged and unwavering.

All global Zetron employees that are able to perform their duties remotely have been transitioned in order to do so effectively, while those that are required to be on location to continue to provide critical support to customers and partners are doing so, with enhanced social distancing, workplace interaction and facility cleanliness and disinfectant measures now in place to enable them to do so safely.

As pandemic conditions have evolved, advanced, and/or worsened for many of our valued public safety customers on the front lines, we’ve heard from agencies asking specifically about emergency, temporary, and/or remote call handling and/or dispatch workstation capabilities for their mission critical communications systems to enable them to better enforce workplace social distancing requirements and/or prop up contingency workstations in non-traditional locations to accommodate reduced, temporary, and/or contingent staffing and operational needs.

Zetron is committed to rapidly and thoughtfully rallying resources, tools, and expertise as needed to help those inquiring about these types of emergency-related solutions or services and we will continue to do so to help our customers provide their vital services to the public during this crisis. As I said last week, our position remains and will continue to stand as being ready, able, and eager to help when and if we can. And words simply are not enough to express how grateful we are to you for continuing to face and meet this challenge head on for all of us. You have our sincere gratitude for maintaining your everyday hero status through this unprecedented and extremely challenging time.
