Sales Specialist (Brisbane)

Position Purpose

Responsible for technical sales including providing engineering & commercial information, customer presentations, system designs, proposals, training and other bid responses and sales communications throughout the sales process to progress/close sales and develop and manage customer relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sources potential new customers and maintains regular contact with existing customers through meetings, telephone calls and emails.  Includes developing a full understanding of the customers’ challenges, needs and requirements; informing current and potential customers of updates and new technologies; and advising them of the advantages of particular software, services, products and/or solutions.
  • Prepares highly technical, complex systems sales proposals  and technical responses, in response to Request for Quotations (RFQ’s), Requests for Information (RFI’s) and Requests for Tenders (RFT’s).  Provides complete, professionally written formal proposals within the defined time frames.
  • Supports Sales Team, System Integrators, Resellers, end users and other parties by providing sales training, pre-sales applications support and technical presentations as required.
  • Provides technical and product information and support to customers using the consultative sales strategy.
  • Participates in preparation, design, setup, presentation and demonstration of Zetron’s products at trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
  • Communicates both verbally and in writing with customers and members of the sales team on proposal status and any related issues on a timely basis, while ensuring highest quality of work.
  • Sources potential new customers and maintains regular contact with existing customers through meetings, telephone calls and emails.  Includes developing a full understanding of the customers’ challenges, needs and requirements; informing current and potential customers of updates and new technologies; and advising them of the advantages of particular software, services, products and/or solutions.
  • Regularly communicates customer and market intelligence to Sales Management, including identified potential sales opportunities, customer requested/required features, competitive new products/pricing, and new market opportunities.
  • Prepare vertical market selling strategies focused on end user requirements and visit potential customers to prospect for new business.
  • Investigates 3rd party products to use with Zetron’s products to help create a larger system solution.
  • Develops and maintains current understanding of the competitive landscape and emerging technologies
  • Provides support to other members of the sales team or others as requested
  • Participates in and/or performs all other projects, tasks, or duties as assigned
  • Follows all internal procedures to comply with and promote Zetron’s quality initiative and ISO accreditation.
  • Required to perform all job functions in a safe manner.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on technical knowledge and understanding of the following areas highly desired: radio systems, telephony systems, and IP data networking.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proficiency in preparing technical and costing responses to RFQ’s, RFI’s and RFT’s, including but not limited to Compliance documents, System Diagrams, System Descriptions and Pricing documents.
  • Good working knowledge and ability to apply consultative sales strategies and techniques.
  • Ability to work independently, consistently and effectively prioritize and manage multiple technically complicated documents, including cross-referencing and version control, within given timeframes.
  • Ability to consistently, effectively and accurately prepare and present highly technical information, while maintaining sales/promotional perspective, within given timeframes.
  • Excellent listening and problem-solving skills, with ability to partner with various stake holders in order to gather and analyze information, and to determine and provide solutions to complex technical problems or issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to convey information clearly and accurately.
  • Professional manner and customer service attitude with proficiency in presenting technical products to customers, in the customer’s environment.
  • Ability to relate to, influence and work with all levels of team members effectively under pressure and time deadlines.
  • Good computer skills using the Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel and Visio.

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree Electronics, Computer Sciences or in related area, with minimum of five (5) years of experience in a role responsible for providing technical sales, including preparing technical and commercial responses to RFQ’s, RFI’s and RFP’s.
  • Experience and proficiency in Land Mobile Radio, Telephony, and either CAD or IP Networking.
  • Or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent expertise.
