A message to the global mission critical communications community, from
Brent Dippie, Zetron President and CEO:
As you’ve probably heard, Zetron has some big news we’re excited to share with our worldwide customers, partners, employees, and others in the mission critical communications markets we proudly serve.
On March 31, the boards of JVCKENWOOD and Codan Limited respectively announced a definitive agreement for Codan to acquire Zetron, Inc., currently a wholly owned subsidiary of JVCKENWOOD.
In case you’re not familiar, Codan is a technology company headquartered in Australia that’s developed robust communications, safety, security, and productivity solutions for customers around the world for 60 years. If you’re interested, I invite you to spend a little time learning more.
While I’m unable to provide forward looking details prior to the closing of the acquisition (expected within 30 to 60 days), there are some high level facts I’d like to share about Codan and this acquisition:
- Codan’s core mission, vision, values and culture all align exceptionally well with those of Zetron, including unwavering commitments to solution quality, interoperability, and reliability in communications and customer-centricity.
- Codan is the parent to several portfolio companies with separate, yet related, core competencies, markets and global footprints – none of which offer directly competitive solutions to those of Zetron. So this is NOT another “big fish swallowing a smaller fish in the same pond,” scenario.
- There are numerous strong synergies that already exist between Zetron’s offerings and those of Codan.
- Finally, Zetron will continue to be Zetron. While this acquisition will provide “the new Zetron” customers with a broader set of solutions, capabilities, resources and programs than before, the trusted name in mission critical communications will remain.
Yet still, mergers and acquisitions can be unsettling. Our industry has seen many, and they haven’t always been grounded in what’s best for the customer. But I can proudly confirm that not to be the case on this occasion.
Our commitment to delivering world class mission critical communications is stronger than ever. And as we move into the next chapter of Zetron we are fully and humbly devoted to continuing to earn the business and trust of our valued worldwide customers, employees and partners every single day.
I invite you to read the press release we’ve issued on the announcement, as well as an FAQ that aims to answer some of the initial questions the announcement has raised (links below). More information will be available as the acquisition closes and integration begins, but until that time we are limited in how much detail we’re able to provide. But if you have other questions we can answer at this time I certainly invite you to contact us today through your normal primary Zetron contact, or at https://www.zetron.com/sales-support/.
I sincerely thank you for your interest in Zetron and look forward to sharing more about “the new Zetron” in the weeks ahead.
President and CEO, Zetron, Inc.
