Zetron’s IP FSA Ensures That Every Alert Gets Through

When the alerting system began to fail at Addison Fire Protection District (FPD) 1 in Addison, Illinois, they decided to replace it with Zetron’s IP Fire Station Alerting (IP FSA) system. Throughout the fall of 2007, Addison FPD worked with A Beep LLC and Zetron to install the new system. It went live in mid-December of 2007.

Addison firefighter and paramedic, John Sullivan, explains why they chose IP FSA: “IP FSA offered the features and functionality the district was looking for― better alerting, notifications of system problems, indications of alert success or failure. [It also brought] us into compliance with current National Fire Protection Association standards. Our firefighters are now alerted with the most reliable system available.”

Acom Is the Centerpiece of TuWay Communication’s Triple-Threat Solution

During late 2006 and early 2007, Zetron, TuWay Communications, and the Monroe County Control Center in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, completed a comprehensive update of the control center. The solution features Zetron’s Acom Advanced Communications System, Zetron’s Series 3200 E9-1-1 Telephone System, and Zetron’s Model 2200 Paging Terminal.

The project has been a resounding success: "We ended up with an excellent system that has the functionality and flexibility we need, but is also highly consolidated and fits within our space limitations,” says Monroe County Control Center Director, Gary Hoffman.

5 Ways Zetron Supports Your Move to Digital
1. Use Zetron’s iRIM to access digital radios.
With Zetron’s Intelligent Radio Interface Module (iRIM), you can migrate to digital radio without having to replace your existing analog console with an expensive digital one.

2. Use the Series 4000 to access both analog and digital radios.
Zetron’s Series 4000 allows you to dispatch to both analog and digital radios at the same time, which can improve interoperability.

3. Meet upcoming narrow-banding requirements.
FCC-mandated 12.5 kHz and 6.25 kHz narrow-banding requirements are on the horizon. With Zetron consoles, you can interface to legacy analog FM radios and digital, narrow-band radios. This allows you to migrate your entire radio system from analog to digital at your own pace.

4. Use Zetron consoles to conform to P25.
Zetron consoles can help you conform to P25 standards. This helps you qualify for federal P25 funds, improves your interoperability, provides a rich feature set, and gives you access to an open architecture, so you’re not limited to a single vendor. (See Zetron’s P25 Application Note for details.)

5. Upgrade your system as digital and IP technologies evolve.
 Zetron offers migration paths for:
 • Zetron radio dispatch systems
 • Zetron 9-1-1 call-taking systems
 • Zetron IP Fire Station Alerting
